Zoom Program: Q&A with Regency Romance Author Alexandra Vasti
Thursday, November 147:00—8:00 PMVIRTUAL PROGRAM - Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923 - 978-774-0554
We are so excited to be chatting with author Alexandra Vasti about one of our very favorite genres - regency romance! We always wonder, were there really that many Dukes and, if so, were they really healthy, wealthy, and handsome? Let's find out as we chat with Alexandra about her most recent book, Ne'er Duke Well and her upcoming book, Earl Crush. Bring your questions as this will be a rapid fire Q&A!
Alexandra Vasti comes from a long line of romance-reading Vasti women. She fell in love with historical romance at age 11 and still swoons for Laura Kinsale and Judith McNaught. She lives in Louisiana, where she teaches literature at a university by day and writes USA Today bestselling romance by night. Somewhere in there she also raises three kids and two mostly feral kitties. She’s powered by guacamole and oat milk lattes, though not usually at the same time.
About the book: Peter Kent—newly inherited Duke of Stanhope and recently of New Orleans, Louisiana—must become respectable. Between his radical politics and the time he interrupted a minor royal wedding with a flock of sheep—not his fault!—he’s developed a scandalous reputation at odds with his goal of becoming guardian to his half siblings. For help, he turns to the cleverest and most managing woman of his acquaintance, Lady Selina Ravenscroft.
Selina is society’s most proper debutante, save one tiny secret: she runs an erotic circulating library for women. When Peter asks for her help, she suggests courtship and marriage to a lady of unimpeachable reputation. (Which is to say, definitely not herself.)
Presented in collaboration with the Ashland Public Library and other area libraries.
