Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

To use this past you MUST make a reservation on the museum's website. To do this:

  • Visit: https://bostonchildrensmuseum.org/ticketing/
  • Select "Discount Programs"
  • Select "Purchase Discount Program Tickets"
  • Select "Half Price Library Timed Tickets"
  • Select the correct date (must match date of the pass)
  • Select the time slot
  • Select the number of tickets (maximum 4)
  • Select "Add to Cart"
  • Select "Check out" and complete your payment
  • You will be sent the tickets via email

The day of your visit, please bring both the library coupon pass and the ticket from the Museum. 

Your coupon and tickets  can be printed out or shown on a smartphone or other device.

Hours of Operation

Boston Children's Museum is open for two pre-registered time slots per day. Please choose only one time slot for your visit, either the morning (9:00am-12:00pm) or the afternoon (1:30pm-4:30pm) time slot. Space is limited! Operating hours are subject to change; please see the museum's website for updates.

Located in Peabody, MA, The Children's Piazza is a space is designed for young children—aged 0 to 6—to learn through unstructured play. Organized to optimize social, cognitive and motor development, areas include a large room with a climbing structure, slides, and swings; an arts and crafts room; a room with a train table; a lunch area with appropriately sized furniture; a glow-in-the-dark planet room; among others. There is a coffee shop and free Wi-Fi on the premises. Please check the website for the requirements of entry.

Pass Benefits

This pass provides one daily weekday (Monday to Friday) free admission for one (1) adult and one (1) child. 

Weekends (Saturdays) and the following holidays are excluded: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and the 4th of July.

Additional children in the family will be charged the sibling rate of $8. Second adult is free with the sibling's admission. 

Please visit The Children's Piazza website (thechildrenspiazza.com) to make a reservation prior to your visit. Reservations required for entry. Pass only valid on date reserved.

The email confirmation sent to you serves as your discount pass. Please present this pass (either printed or on your mobile device) upon entry to the Children's Piazza. Library staff may print this pass for you upon request.

The Museum of Science in Boston is located on a piece of land that extends the width of the Charles River, connecting Boston and Cambridge. Dedicated to promoting and educating visitors about science and technology, the museum includes a planetarium, the world’s largest open-air Van de Graaff generator, an IMAX theatre, a butterfly garden, and permanent and changing exhibits on birds, insects and animals; space; dinosaurs; engineering; nanotechnology; math; biology; and more.

Pass Benefits

This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free.

Your Library pass can only be used on the date printed on the pass.

Please bring your library pass confirmation (printed or displayed on a phone) when you visit.

When you arrive at the Museum, stop at the Box Office to exchange your library pass and purchase your Exhibit Halls tickets at the discounted rate. If you have any questions or would like to reserve your Exhibit Halls passes in advance to avoid waiting in line the day of your visit, please call 617-723-2500 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily).

If you are unable to show your Library confirmation on a phone, you may print out a copy using the link in the confirmation email or request a paper copy from the library.

New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.

The original, dated coupon must be presented at the Aquarium Box Office ("General Admission" line) at the time of the visit. Library pass holders will be granted immediate entry after purchasing discounted tickets, even if the Aquarium is sold out to the general public at that time.

Library coupons may not be used in conjunction with school or group visits, nor applied toward Aquarium programs, Simons Theater tickets, Whale Watch tickets, or combination tickets.

Located in downtown Peabody, MA, the North Shore Children's Museum offers 15 hands-on exhibits geared towards explorative and imaginative play for children ages 2 to 8. A child may become a superhero in the Comic Room, a builder in the Gross Motor Room, an artist in the Makerspace, and more. All exhibits are in ADA-accessible spaces.

Pass Benefits

The reserved pass allows for 50% off admission for a family of five (adults/children); it can either be presented on a mobile device or as a print-out to receive the discounted admission rate in-person. Passes will be emailed to reserving patrons, without the need to come to the library to pick up the pass! Please contact the library to reserve this pass if you do not have an email address.

Advanced ticket purchase is strongly recommended but not required. To purchase tickets online, visit https://www.nschildrensmuseum.org/visit/buy-tickets/, click on "Buy Tickets" and select your preferred admission. Your library pass will only be honored on the date you reserved. If the museum reaches capacity, visitors will be let in on a one in, one out basis.

Wenham Museum is a history museum celebrating the treasures of childhood and New England family life across four centuries, with an emphasis on the North Shore. The museum's collections feature a world-renowned doll collection and dollhouses, costumes and textiles, model trains, antique toys, historic photographs, and the interactive Family Discovery Gallery. Admission includes a tour of the historic Claflin-Gerrish-Richards House, built at the end of the 17th century. In addition, there are rotating special programs and exhibitions. A gift shop is on the premises.

This discount pass is good for  4 general admissions at half price. Reservations do not need to be made in advance.

*This pass is for general admission only and special programs the museum offers are not included in the pass ( this included  Kids' Countdown to New Year's Eve (on New Year's Eve Day), Fairy Festival (TBD), or other programs that have special pricing)*

The Wenham Museum is not open Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, Day or New Year's Day. We are not open on Mondays - except for MLK Day and President's Day. During mid May - Labor Day, we are not open on Sundays in the Summer.

For admission for this pass, simply show the confirmation email date on your phone at the front desk of the museum or bring a printed out copy.
